WHEN YOU WANT THE BEST FOR YOUR BABY!

Newborn Photography – Frequently Asked Questions

Luxury Newborn Portrait Experience by Pooja Photography | Bay Area Studio

1. When is the best time to book a newborn photography session?
We recommend booking your Bay Area newborn photography session during your second trimester to secure a spot on our calendar. Since sessions are limited each month, booking early ensures we can accommodate your estimated due date and provide a fully customized experience.

2. How old should my baby be for their newborn portraits?
The ideal window for professional newborn portraits is between 5 to 14 days after birth. During this time, your baby is naturally sleepy and flexible—perfect for capturing those dreamy, curled-up poses that define timeless newborn imagery.

3. Where will the newborn photo session take place?
All newborn sessions are held at our luxury portrait studio conveniently located in the Bay Area. Our fully-equipped studio offers a serene, temperature-controlled space with professional lighting, styling props, and safety-focused posing gear—everything needed for a stress-free, high-end newborn session.
We do not offer in-home newborn photography.

4. How long does a newborn photography session last?
Our studio newborn photo sessions typically last 2 to 3 hours. This allows ample time for feeding, soothing, cuddling, and posing. We follow your baby’s rhythm to ensure a calm and relaxed experience that results in beautiful, heartfelt portraits.

5. Do you provide props and outfits for newborn photos?
Yes! We offer a curated selection of luxury newborn photography props, including organic wraps, textured fabrics, bonnets, headbands, baskets, and backdrops. Our wardrobe is designed for elegant and timeless images, with the option to incorporate any sentimental items you’d like to bring.

6. Can parents and siblings be included in the newborn session?
Absolutely. We encourage family portraits and sibling photos during the session to tell a complete visual story. Our expert guidance on wardrobe styling and posing ensures that your family looks polished and cohesive in every image.

7. Is newborn photography safe for my baby?
Yes—newborn safety is our #1 priority. We are professionally trained in safe newborn posing and always work with the utmost care, never forcing any pose. Our studio is thoroughly sanitized between sessions, and all props and blankets are freshly cleaned to maintain a hygienic, baby-friendly environment.

8. What should I bring to the studio for our newborn session?
Please bring your baby’s essentials—diapers, wipes, formula or breast milk, pacifier (if used), and an extra outfit. If you’ll be in the portraits, we recommend wearing neutral, timeless tones. We take care of all styling and setup, so you can relax and enjoy the experience.

9. What is your editing style for newborn photography?
Our signature editing style is clean, soft, and timeless. We enhance every image with gentle retouching to perfect skin tones, remove flakes or redness, and highlight your baby’s delicate features. Every portrait is hand-edited to reflect the elevated, fine-art quality that defines Pooja Photography.

10. When will we see our newborn portraits and receive our final images?
You’ll enjoy a same-day image reveal and ordering appointment right after your session, where you can view and select your favorite portraits. Depending on your selected package, final delivery of retouched digital files and custom printed artwork takes between 3 to 6 weeks.

11. What kind of products do you offer for newborn photos?
We specialize in heirloom-quality printed artwork, including fine art albums, museum-grade canvas wall portraits, custom folio boxes, and high-resolution digital files. Every product is crafted with care to become a lasting part of your family’s legacy.
