Three words. That’s where your session begins.
Before I pick up my camera, I need to know you. Not your job title. Not what you’re wearing. Three words that feel true when you say them out loud. Everything we make together flows from there.

Who this is for
For leaders who’ve outgrown their current photo.
This is for you if you lead a team, run a practice, build a company or take the stage, and the photo representing you doesn’t say what you’d say yourself. Maybe it’s five years old. Maybe it was never quite you.
You’ve earned your seat. Your portrait should look polished, current and unmistakably yours.
The session starts here
Not your elevator pitch. Not your LinkedIn bio. Just three true words.
I’ve heard hundreds of answers over the years. Every single one has been different. And every single one has changed the session we built together.
Because a headshot isn’t a photograph of your face. It’s a photograph of your reputation. It’s the first impression you make on someone who’s never been in the same room as you. It has about two seconds to do its job.
So if I don’t know who you are before I photograph you, how is that image going to carry any of that? It won’t. It’ll just be a photo of someone standing in good light. Pleasant. Forgettable. The visual equivalent of “fine.”
You’ve worked too hard to be photographed as “fine.”
Built around you
The session gets built. Around you.
Here’s something most photographers won’t tell you. The session you need doesn’t exist yet when you book it. It gets built around you, your business, your people, and the impression you want to make.
I want to know your three words. I want to know who your ideal client is. I want to know where these images are going to live. And then, last, I want to know what you do. Most photographers start there. I don’t. Because what you do is the least interesting thing about you. It’s the label, not the person.
Your three words
The ones that feel true when you say them out loud. Not what you think you should say. What actually describes you and your business.
Who you’re trying to reach
Your ideal client needs to feel something when they see your image. We build around that person, deliberately, before we pick up the camera.
Your vision and inspiration
A vision board, a Pinterest folder, screenshots you’ve saved because something felt right. Bring it all. This tells me more about you than any brief ever could.
Where these images need to work
LinkedIn, your website, your speaker bio, a press kit. Each place asks something different. We plan for all of it before we start.
The photograph is the last thing I make. Everything before it is the real work.
How a session works
From first conversation to finished images.

We talk first
Every session begins with a conversation, before you book anything. We talk about your three words, who you want to reach and where your images will live, so you know whether we’re a good fit.

You receive your planning guide
Tips for outfits, hair, makeup and how to prepare, so you arrive knowing what to expect.

Your session
At my private studio in San Ramon. I guide your posture, expression and movement, so you’re never wondering what to do with your hands.
- 4
You see your images right away
We look at them together right after the session and choose your favorites.

Your retouched images arrive the same day
Retouching stays light and natural. Need a specific crop for your website or LinkedIn? Just ask.
If you don’t love being photographed
You don’t have to feel confident in front of the camera.
A lot of people don’t enjoy being photographed, and that’s completely fine. You might be perfectly at ease leading a boardroom or speaking to a full room, and still wonder what to do with your hands or whether your smile looks forced.
My sessions make room for that. You bring the experience and the presence you’ve already built. I’ll take care of the camera.
“Pooja made it so easy. She knows how to set up a great shot and make her subject feel confident.”
Lauren Ng
“Before the session, Pooja provided a detailed planning guide with helpful tips for outfits, hair, makeup, and how to prepare for the shoot.”
Sheeja Nair, Raashi Design
What to wear
You won’t have to guess.
Before your session you’ll receive a planning guide with tips for outfits, hair, makeup and how to prepare. I plan the day ahead of time, so there’s nothing to figure out on your own.
The truth nobody says out loud
Do it once. Do it right.
If you don’t invest in yourself, why would people invest in you?
Your personal brand is working for you around the clock. Your images show up before you do, on your website, your social profiles, your press features, your email signature. They’re making an impression whether you’ve thought about it or not.
A session built around who you actually are doesn’t just give you great photos. It gives you a visual identity that attracts the right people and quietly repels the wrong ones. It does the qualifying work so you don’t have to.
That’s not a luxury. That’s a business decision.

Common questions
Personal branding photography, answered.
I don’t enjoy being photographed. Will this feel awkward?
That’s a very common worry, and it’s one I plan for. I guide your posture, expression and movement the whole way through, so you’re never left standing there wondering what to do with your hands.
How is a personal branding session different from a headshot?
A headshot is one polished image. A personal branding session is built around your story: your three words, the people you want to reach, and everywhere your images need to work, from LinkedIn to your website to a press kit. If you only need a clean professional headshot, a headshot session may be the better fit.
Do we talk before I book?
Yes. We start with a conversation, so you know whether we’re a good fit before you commit to anything. We talk about your three words, who you’re trying to reach and where your images will live.
What should I wear?
Before your session you’ll receive a planning guide with tips for outfits, hair, makeup and how to prepare for the day. I plan the day ahead of time, so there’s nothing to figure out on your own.
When do I see my images?
Right after your session. We look at your images together and choose your favorites. Your retouched images are delivered the same day.
Where do sessions take place?
Sessions take place in my private studio in San Ramon, which is convenient for clients across the East Bay, including San Ramon, Danville, Walnut Creek, Pleasanton and Dublin. If another setting would serve your brand better, such as your office, mention it when we talk and we’ll see what’s possible.
Will my photos look over-retouched?
No. Retouching stays light and natural. The goal is you on your best day, not a different person.
