Where are family portrait sessions held? We offer both in-studio sessions at our San Ramon studio and select outdoor locations across the Bay Area. During your design consultation, we’ll talk through which setting best suits your family’s style and what you’re hoping to hang on your walls.
Can I just get digital files? All our art work includes the matching digitals for you to share with family and friends.
What should we wear? Don’t stress about this — it’s one of the things we help with. Once your session is booked, we’ll walk through outfits for every family member together, so everything is coordinated, intentional, and photographed beautifully. No matchy-matchy required unless that’s your thing.
Can our pet join the session? Absolutely — furbabies are family. We love having pets in family portraits and our studio is set up to make it easy and fun for everyone, two-legged and four.
How long does a session take? Most family sessions run between one and two hours, though we never rush. If the kids need a snack break or a quick reset, that’s totally fine. We build breathing room into every session.
When is the best time of year for outdoor family portraits in the Bay Area? Late spring — think April and May — and fall between October and November offer the most beautiful natural light and comfortable temperatures. Golden hour, about an hour before sunset, is especially stunning. That said, our studio is always available year-round if you’d rather skip the weather guessing game entirely.
